The funeral prayers of the Motorway Police officers who embraced martyrdom in the tragic accident on Motorway M-5 were offered at Multan Police Lines with full official honours.
Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan participated in the funeral prayers and expressed his profound grief over the loss of the brave officers. The Martyrs included Sub-Inspector Muhammad Mushtaq, Assistant Sub-Inspector Nasir Abbas and Constable Usama Ali who laid down their lives in the line of their duties.
Extending his heartfelt condolences, Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan consoled the families of the Martyrs and assured them that their sacrifices will never be forgotten. He said that the Motorway Police personnel performed their duties with exemplary courage and professionalism, setting a high standard of service for the nation. Abdul Aleem Khan affirmed that the Motorway Police Department would stand firmly with the families of the Martyrs and continue to support them in every possible way.
Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan also instructed for a comprehensive inquiry into the tragic accident and emphasized that all aspects would be reviewed thoroughly to prevent such incidents in the future. He added that the Ministry of Communications is committed to take more effective measures to ensure the safety of life and property on national Highways and Motorways.
The funeral prayers were attended by the IG Motorways RPO Multan, Commissioner Multan, Deputy Commissioner and senior officers of the local administration along with a large number of officials and citizens.
The families of the Martyrs conveyed their gratitude and expressed appreciation for the Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan’s presence and surety of continued assistance. As per details, on the morning of November 17 while changing shift, Sub Inspector Muhammad Mushtaq, ASI Nasir Abbas (probationer on deputation from Punjab Police, Multan District) and UT/JPO Usama Ali were hit from the rear by a bus while the impact was so severe and all three NHMP officers lost their lives on the spot.
