The Capital Development Authority has launched a targeted road safety initiative on Srinagar Highway with Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa issuing prompt directions to improve conditions at major U turns along the busy route. This move aims to enhance safety for motorists and reduce the risk of accidents at locations where traffic merges and turns.
Under the chairman’s instructions CDA teams have been mobilised late into the night to install reflectors and implement essential road safety measures at the highway’s U turn points. These upgrades include reflective markers and improved signage designed to increase visibility for drivers especially during nighttime travel and poor weather conditions.
Officials said the enhanced safety measures are part of the broader traffic management strategy being pursued by the civic authority on crucial city corridors such as the Srinagar Highway which links Islamabad to key urban hubs and major highways. The highway has previously been the focus of traffic engineering improvements including signal free flow strategies and infrastructure upgrades aimed at reducing congestion and improving commuter experience.
