ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa paid a visit to the Shaheen Chowk underpass project along with Member Engineering and senior officers to review construction progress and quality standards. The visit focused on assessing on ground execution as the project enters its final completion phase ahead of schedule.
During the inspection the chairman examined different sections of the underpass and reviewed ongoing roadwork and finishing activities. Officials briefed him in detail on the overall progress and informed that more than 93 percent of the total development work has been completed successfully within the stipulated timeframe.
According to the briefing the structural work of the Shaheen Chowk underpass has been fully completed while road surfacing and finishing works are progressing at a fast pace. Landscaping and horticulture activities around the project site are also being carried out simultaneously to enhance the visual appeal of the area.
Officials further informed that permanent decorative lighting is being installed to improve aesthetics and visibility. The surrounding environment is being developed with modern landscaping features to ensure that the project not only improves traffic flow but also adds to the urban outlook of the capital.
Expressing satisfaction over the pace and quality of work Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that the project is being completed ahead of time without compromising construction standards. He emphasized that adherence to high quality benchmarks remains a top priority in all CDA development initiatives.
The chairman said that upon completion the Shaheen Chowk underpass will significantly ease traffic congestion and provide signal free and comfortable travel facilities to daily commuters and students of nearby educational institutions. He added that improved traffic flow will lead to substantial savings in time and fuel for residents.
Muhammad Ali Randhawa reaffirmed that provision of modern travel facilities and continuous infrastructure development are among CDA’s core priorities. He stated that the completion of the Shaheen Chowk underpass will play a vital role in improving Islamabad’s road network and enhancing the overall commuting experience for citizens.
