Punjab’s Senior Minister for Housing, Bilal Yasin, visited the Rawalpindi Development Authority office to review ongoing and upcoming urban development projects. During the visit, DG RDA, Kinza Murtaza, provided a detailed briefing on the progress of current projects and plans for future initiatives aimed at enhancing the city’s infrastructure.
Key projects under review include the expansion of Murree Road, the development of Ring Road, and the construction of an underpass at the end of Double Road. These initiatives are part of RDA’s broader strategy to improve traffic flow, connectivity, and urban mobility throughout Rawalpindi.
In addition to road projects, plans have been approved to establish four modern parking plazas in the city. Two plazas will be constructed near Katchery, while the other two will serve the busy areas of Jinnah Road and Raja Bazaar. These facilities aim to alleviate parking congestion and provide convenient access for residents and visitors.
Minister Bilal Yasin also visited the Banth Interchange along the Ring Road to assess progress firsthand. He praised the RDA’s commitment to timely project execution and highlighted the importance of these developments for the city’s overall growth and modernization.
DG RDA Kinza Murtaza reported that the Ring Road project has achieved 78 percent completion and is expected to be fully operational by March 2026. She emphasized that all relevant teams have received clear instructions to ensure the project is completed efficiently and on schedule.
Once completed, the Ring Road and associated infrastructure projects will serve as vital links connecting different areas of Rawalpindi, significantly improving transportation and accessibility. These initiatives reflect the government’s focus on sustainable urban development and the creation of modern, livable city spaces for the citizens of Rawalpindi.
