ISLAMABAD: Officials have indicated that petroleum prices in Pakistan may soon be adjusted downward in the latest fortnightly review as global crude oil rates soften. A working recommendation from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority proposes modest reductions in key fuel products, reflecting international market trends and potential relief for motorists and transport operators.
Under the anticipated revision petrol could see a decrease of around four to six rupees per litre while high-speed diesel may drop by approximately two to five rupees per litre, offering some financial relief to consumers at the pump. Final approval is expected once the summaries are forwarded to the federal government for endorsement. Officials stress that the actual adjustments will depend on the government’s review and alignment with broader economic conditions.
