TAXILA: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leader and Member of the National Assembly Sheikh Aftab Ahmed has announced an ambitious development drive to bring Hassanabdal at par with developed towns of Punjab through sustained investment in infrastructure and civic facilities. He said millions of rupees are being allocated to modernise roads, utilities and public services across the tehsil.

The MNA made these remarks while addressing a public gathering as chief guest at the inauguration of a Rs17.758 million road construction project in Jhuj village of Union Council Sultanpur. The project forms part of a broader plan to upgrade rural and urban connectivity and improve mobility for local residents.

Sheikh Aftab said that under the leadership of PML Nawaz President Nawaz Sharif Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz the country and province are once again moving towards sustainable development. He added that Hassanabdal which remained neglected for years is now witnessing tangible progress due to focused planning and consistent funding.

Highlighting completed and ongoing schemes he said roads in Bhidiyan Pir Mandrialah Pord Miana Islamkot Jhuj Berhan Morhan Khattaran and KSP Malik Sadagat Road have been constructed or rehabilitated during the last one and a half years. He added that work on Chhapar Road is halfway complete while tenders for Kalupind Road have already been issued.

The MNA said the Pind Mehri Jahanabad Road will be constructed in the next phase to further strengthen regional connectivity. He added that Sui gas facilities have been extended to Morhan Khattaran Tanda Shaiya Mirpur and surrounding villages while electricity coverage has been ensured across the constituency.

Sheikh Aftab said the objective is to ensure balanced and inclusive development so that Hassanabdal matches developed towns in terms of infrastructure public services and quality of life. Former MPA Sardar Iftikhar Ahmed Khan local party leaders and residents praised the initiative and expressed confidence in sustained progress under the current development agenda.
