RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority is poised for a major digital transformation with the upcoming launch of the E-Biz Portal and the E-FOAS system. The Punjab Information Technology Board conducted a comprehensive training session for RDA officials on Tuesday to ensure smooth implementation of the new platforms.
The E-Biz Portal will provide citizens and investors with seamless online access to a wide range of services including permits, licences, registrations, and land use conversion approvals. These services will be available without the need to visit government offices, eliminating delays, red tape, and unnecessary procedural hurdles.
The e-Filing and Office Automation System, known as E-FOAS, is designed to digitise official processes and replace manual file movement within RDA offices. The system will streamline workflows, enhance efficiency, and promote accountability across all departments of the civic agency.
Punjab government officials announced that from February 1, a total of 210 services from 15 departments will be accessible through the E-Biz Portal. The initiative aligns with the provincial vision of Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman to make public services fully digital, saving citizens time and resources while promoting paperless governance.
During the briefing, PITB representative Zaid bin Tariq outlined the operational framework, key functionalities, and phased rollout plan of both platforms. He emphasised that the systems are part of a broader strategy to improve governance, strengthen transparency, and deliver faster and more reliable public services.
RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza urged all directorates to fully adopt modern digital tools to enhance planning, transparency, and service delivery. She stated that the launch of the E-Biz Portal and E-FOAS system will mark a new era of digital governance in Rawalpindi, ensuring efficient and timely public services for citizens and investors alike.
