ISLAMABAD: The National Highways and Motorway Police have intensified efforts on the E‑35 Hazara Expressway to maintain traffic flow and provide timely assistance to motorists during the ongoing winter weather. Snowfall and freezing temperatures across northern Pakistan have created challenging driving conditions, prompting the police to deploy personnel and equipment along key stretches of the highway.

Officials confirmed that the motorway police are actively monitoring road conditions, clearing snow where necessary, and assisting commuters to ensure uninterrupted travel. The E‑35 Hazara Expressway, which connects the Burhan Interchange near Hasan Abdal to destinations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is a vital northbound corridor and a priority for traffic management authorities.

The National Weather Forecasting Centre has issued warnings about continued below‑freezing temperatures and snowfall in hilly areas, which could make roads slippery and increase the risk of accidents. NHMP officials have urged motorists to follow traffic advisories, drive cautiously, and avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather.

Motorway police have also established roadside support and helpline services to help stranded or distressed travelers. The helpline enables commuters to report emergencies, seek guidance, and receive immediate assistance from trained NHMP personnel stationed along the expressway.

Authorities emphasized that the ongoing winter operations on Hazara Expressway are part of a broader nationwide effort to maintain major highways and expressways despite adverse weather. Similar deployments have been carried out on other key routes, including Murree Expressway, to ensure that traffic continues to move safely during peak winter travel periods.

NHMP officials reminded travelers to plan journeys carefully, remain updated on weather and road conditions, and make use of available support services. The coordinated approach aims to minimize disruptions, protect motorists, and maintain smooth connectivity on Pakistan’s strategic road network throughout the winter season.
