ISLAMABAD: With a massive surge in holiday travel expected, National Highways and Motorway Police has rolled out a comprehensive safety and enforcement plan to ensure smooth and secure journeys during Eidul Fitr. The move aims to manage heavy traffic flow across motorways and national highways as millions head to their hometowns.

Inspector General Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry has placed the entire force on high alert, directing officers to implement strict safety protocols and maximize facilitation for travelers. Authorities anticipate an exceptional increase in vehicular movement, prompting enhanced operational readiness nationwide.

A major focus of the campaign is curbing overcharging by public transport operators. Strict monitoring mechanisms have been activated to ensure fares remain within government notified limits, protecting passengers from exploitation during peak travel days.

The NHMP has also warned of strict legal action against transporters involved in overloading and fare violations. Officers have been instructed to conduct rigorous checks at terminals and along highways, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining discipline across the transport network.

To reduce accident risks, patrolling has been significantly intensified, with additional personnel deployed at critical نقاط. Transport companies have been directed to ensure vehicle fitness, avoid overloading, and prioritize passenger safety throughout the holiday period.

Officials emphasized that public cooperation remains essential. Citizens have been urged to follow traffic laws, avoid overspeeding, and support enforcement efforts. The initiative is designed to deliver a safer, smoother travel experience, allowing families to celebrate Eidul Fitr with peace of mind across Pakistan.
