RAWALPINDI: In a significant anti encroachment drive, the district administration has reclaimed 2.5 kanals of illegally occupied land and initiated plans to convert the site into a public park for local residents.
Assistant Commissioner Hakim Khan said the land had long been under illegal occupation, with portions of it also being used as a dumping ground. The operation was carried out to clear all forms of encroachment and restore the land for public use.
Authorities removed heaps of garbage and debris from the site, transforming what was once a neglected area into a clean and usable space. Officials described the move as part of broader efforts to improve urban management and reclaim state land.
To prevent future encroachments, construction of a boundary wall around the reclaimed land has been initiated. The administration is working in coordination with local residents to secure the area and ensure its proper maintenance.
Officials confirmed that the site will soon be developed into a public park, providing a much needed recreational space for the community. The initiative is expected to enhance the environment and improve the quality of life in the locality.
The administration has reiterated its commitment to continuing anti encroachment operations across the city, emphasizing that illegally occupied land will be reclaimed and repurposed for the benefit of the public.
