ISLAMABAD: Chairman Capital Development Authority and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa chaired a meeting at CDA Headquarters on Thursday to review progress on development in new sectors and preparations for handing over possession of developed plots to owners.
The meeting was attended by Member Administration and Estate Talat Mahmood, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Planning and Design Dr Khalid Hafeez, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Environment Asfandiyar Baloch and other senior officers. Officials discussed ongoing development work and measures to accelerate plot possession in newly developed sectors.
Officials informed the chairman that major infrastructure work in Sector C 14 has been completed. More than 95 percent of the electricity supply network is in place while light poles along main boulevards and road signage across streets have been installed. Landscaping and horticulture work along key roads is also progressing rapidly.
Randhawa directed authorities to install digital boards at entry points of Sector C 14 and personally inspect development work so that the process of handing over plot possession can begin soon.
Briefing the meeting on Sector C 15, officials said sub base work on about 37 streets is underway. The process of obtaining a No Objection Certificate for the proposed railway bridge has also been initiated and a consultant will soon be hired to finalize the design.
The meeting also reviewed development work in Sector E 12 and Sector I 12. Officials said road sub base work in E 12 sub sectors one and two is nearing completion while work on major roads around the commercial centre and electricity supply network is progressing. Development in Sector I 12 is close to completion and work on the service road will begin soon.
Randhawa also directed early installation of road signage in all new sectors and preparation of digital e maps to help plot owners identify their plots. He further ordered authorities to resolve electricity issues in Park Enclave, complete road carpeting and ensure removal of illegal occupants, stressing that providing modern residential facilities in Islamabad remains CDA’s top priority.
