RAWALPINDI: In a proactive move ahead of Eidul Fitr, the Water and Sanitation Agency has rolled out a comprehensive operational plan to ensure uninterrupted water supply and efficient sewerage services across the city. The initiative aims to provide maximum relief to residents during the festive period.
Managing Director WASA Rawalpindi Azizullah Khan announced that all necessary arrangements have been finalised, with special emphasis on maintaining a continuous supply of clean drinking water. He assured citizens that any complaints related to water or sewerage would be addressed promptly through an active response system.
To avoid disruptions during Eid prayers, sewerage staff have been directed to inspect key mosques and Eidgahs across Rawalpindi. Authorities have also ordered strict monitoring of sewer lines, manholes and drainage systems to prevent blockages and overflows in high traffic areas.
Field staff will remain fully deployed throughout the Eid holidays, ensuring immediate response to any emergency. WASA has also designated senior officers as focal persons to oversee operations and monitor the complaint management system in real time.
According to the official duty roster, Director Sewerage Saadun Basra will supervise sewerage operations, supported by assistant directors and engineering staff. Multiple sub engineers and technical teams have been assigned to key localities including Shamsabad, Liaquat Bagh, Commercial Market, Chak Jalal Din, Gulzar e Quaid and Rawal Dam areas.
The Managing Director urged citizens to report any issues without delay by contacting their nearest complaint centre or calling WASA’s toll free helpline 1334. He emphasised that ensuring public convenience during Eid remains the agency’s top priority.
