ISLAMABAD: The Public Procurement Regulatory Authority has formally announced the rollout of the upgraded e Pak Acquisition and Disposal System EPADS Version 2.0 across all federal government entities, aligning with the Prime Minister’s Digital Pakistan initiative. The directive was issued on February 2, 2026, and aims to modernize and streamline public procurement nationwide.
According to PPRA, EPADS Version 2.0 offers enhanced functionality, improved system performance, and a more user friendly interface. The upgraded platform also introduces advanced supervisory features, enabling senior officials in ministries, divisions, and departments to monitor procurement activities of subordinate offices in real time.
The authority stated that the new system will significantly strengthen transparency, oversight, and governance in public procurement. Real time monitoring is expected to improve accountability and reduce procedural delays, contributing to more efficient use of public resources.
PPRA has directed that no new procurement activities shall be initiated on the existing EPADS system from February 15, 2026. Ongoing procurements may be completed on the current system, but all new procurement processes initiated on or after the effective date will be mandatory through EPADS Version 2.0, regardless of financial value or procurement method.
To facilitate a smooth transition, PPRA has trained more than 200 master trainers from various government organizations during January 2026. All procuring agencies, including autonomous and semi autonomous bodies as well as state owned enterprises, have been instructed to ensure timely onboarding on the upgraded platform.
PPRA has also advised agencies to submit account opening forms and nominate officials for further training where required. The authority assured full technical support to ensure seamless implementation of EPADS Version 2.0 and reinforce digital procurement reforms across the federal government.
