ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad district administration has announced revised M-Tag registration hours to improve access for citizens during Ramazan. The new schedule introduces 24-hour and 12-hour service options for motorcycles, ensuring residents can complete registration at their convenience.
A total of 13 M-Tag service centers in Islamabad will operate under the updated timings. Four centers, including 26 Number Chungi, F-9 Park, Faizabad, and Phulgran, will provide round-the-clock service. These 24-hour M-Tag registration points cater to citizens who cannot visit during regular hours.
Nine additional centers, including Rawat Check Post, G-14 Check Post, 9th Avenue I-9, Wheat Godown Naka, Daman-e-Koh, Murree Road near Tulip Naka, Gulberg Greens, Millpur, and Margalla Avenue Check Post, will operate for 12 hours daily. Officials selected these locations based on high traffic flow and public demand.
The Directorate of Excise Islamabad has extended staff shifts at selected centers from nine to 12 hours to manage increased footfall during the holy month. Authorities highlighted that the expanded schedule aims to streamline motorcycle M-Tag registration and enhance toll compliance while keeping public convenience in focus.
Citizens are reminded that certain documents are mandatory for M-Tag installation. Applicants must provide vehicle ownership documents, a valid national identity card, and a registered mobile number. Vehicles must also display official Excise-issued number plates, as motorcycles and cars without department-issued plates are ineligible.
Authorities urged Islamabad residents to visit the nearest service center within the revised hours to complete M-Tag registration during Ramazan. These changes are part of ongoing efforts to improve traffic management and ensure smooth service delivery during the busy period.
