The Rawalpindi Development Authority has launched strict legal proceedings against Faisal Town Housing Scheme for multiple violations of approved development regulations. The action reflects RDA’s continued crackdown on housing projects that fail to comply with planning and infrastructure requirements.
According to an RDA spokesperson, a First Information Report has been registered at the Airport Police Station against the owner of Faisal Town and other members of its management. The case was filed following repeated non compliance with the approved layout plan and development conditions set by the authority.
With police assistance, the brother of the Faisal Town owner was arrested during the enforcement operation. Officials said the arrest was part of an ongoing investigation into the housing scheme’s management and its failure to fulfil mandatory development obligations.
The spokesperson stated that Faisal Town committed serious breaches of regulations, including failure to start development work on the sewerage treatment plant, non allotment of 53 approved plots and failure to develop the designated nullah within the scheme. These lapses directly violate the conditions under which approval was granted.
RDA officials confirmed that action has been taken under the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976. The housing scheme administration had been issued several notices in the past, directing it to address the violations. Despite repeated warnings, the management failed to rectify the issues within the given deadlines.
RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza said the authority would continue taking indiscriminate action against all illegal and non compliant housing schemes. She stressed that protecting citizens’ rights and investments remains a top priority. The DG also instructed relevant officers to intensify operations against other housing projects found violating approved plans and development regulations.
