A rank-wearing ceremony for officers recently promoted from Sub-Inspector to Inspector in the National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) was held at the Hamaid Shakeel Auditorium, NHMP Lines Headquarter Islamabad. The ceremony was organized in pursuance of the decisions of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC). Inspector General National Highways & Motorway Police, Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry, graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

At the beginning of the ceremony, a special prayer was offered for the martyrs. The DIG Headquarters, Afzal Ahmed Kausar, delivered the welcome address. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Inspectors General, Senior Superintendents of Police, promoted Inspectors along with their families, and other senior officers and officials. The IG NHMP personally pinned the ranks on the newly promoted Inspectors, with their families present, and extended his congratulations.

Addressing the gathering, Inspector General NHMP stated that promotions are recognition of officers’ hard work, dedication, and outstanding professional performance. He expressed confidence that the promoted officers would continue to perform their duties with integrity, professionalism, and a strong spirit of public service, thereby further enhancing the reputation of the organization.

The IG NHMP emphasized that promotion in service is an important milestone which brings increased responsibilities and higher expectations in serving the public. He expressed hope that the promoted officers would, through effective strategies and professional competence, contribute further towards improving traffic discipline and the quality of public facilitation.

Highlighting the importance of capacity building, the Inspector General stated that training plays a fundamental role in the success of any organization, and NHMP accords top priority to providing modern and quality training to its officers. He informed that the promoted officers belong to Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and Punjab.

The IG NHMP further noted that the good reputation of the Motorway Police is the result of courteous behaviour, impartial enforcement of the law, and timely assistance to road users. He stressed that strengthening public trust in NHMP is a shared responsibility of all ranks.
