The Capital Development Authority has given formal approval for the construction of a dedicated Capital House in Sector F5, marking a major administrative upgrade for Islamabad. The initiative aligns the federal capital with provincial governments that already operate their own exclusive accommodation and administrative facilities in Islamabad. The decision reflects the city’s growing need for a centralized and purpose built complex to manage official lodging requirements more efficiently.
The approval was granted during a meeting of the CDA Development Working Party chaired by Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa. Senior officials briefed the meeting on the urgent need to replace the scattered and outdated government accommodation structures currently spread across multiple locations. The Capital House project is viewed as a transformative step toward modernizing Islamabad’s administrative infrastructure.
The project carries an estimated cost of Rs3.2 billion and has been designed to serve as a unified hub for official residences and administrative offices. According to CDA officials, the new facility will streamline government operations by bringing essential services and lodging under one roof. This consolidated setup is expected to reduce logistical hurdles, enhance security and improve overall coordination among departments.
The approved PC I outlines the technical and architectural framework for the project. It includes modern residential suites, meeting rooms, administrative offices and essential support facilities required for smooth government functioning. The complex will also integrate updated security features and sustainable building practices to ensure long term efficiency and environmental responsibility.
Construction activities are expected to begin soon following the finalization of procedural requirements. The CDA has indicated that the project will be completed within two years, allowing for swift progress and timely delivery. Regular monitoring and oversight will be maintained to ensure that development remains aligned with approved specifications.
