ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority has launched a major development initiative in Islamabad by inviting electronic bids for a high value residential construction project aimed at providing housing facilities for female officers. The move signals an important step toward expanding workplace support infrastructure and strengthening accommodation facilities for government employees in the federal capital.
According to the latest procurement notice issued by the authority, the project involves the construction of residential facilities for female officers in Sector H 8 by H 4. The estimated value of the development stands at more than Rs 768 million, making it one of the notable public infrastructure projects announced in recent days. The initiative reflects CDA’s broader strategy of modernizing civic and residential infrastructure across Islamabad.
Officials said the tender process will take place through an electronic bidding mechanism under a single stage and one envelope procedure. Authorities have invited eligible firms registered with relevant engineering and procurement bodies to participate in the process and compete for the high profile project.
The development comes at a time when Islamabad continues to witness rapid urban expansion and increasing demand for upgraded public facilities. Experts believe that dedicated residential projects for government employees can improve workplace efficiency while also addressing accommodation challenges faced by officers serving in different departments.
The project is expected to attract strong interest from construction and engineering firms due to its substantial value and strategic significance. Market observers say such projects often generate economic activity by creating opportunities for contractors, suppliers, labor sectors and related industries connected to large scale development work.
With the bidding process now underway, attention is shifting toward the next phase of execution and implementation. The project is likely to become a key addition to Islamabad’s growing development landscape as authorities continue efforts to reshape the capital through infrastructure and housing initiatives.
