ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority has approved the PC I for a landmark five star and seven star hotel project in Sector F 5 with an estimated cost of Rs57.7 billion. The decision signals a major expansion in Islamabad’s hospitality landscape as the city prepares to accommodate a rising number of international visitors, delegations and business travellers. The approval was granted during a meeting of the CDA Development Working Party on Thursday.

According to officials, the high end facility is designed to strengthen Islamabad’s capacity to host state guests, foreign dignitaries and top tier business delegations. The project is expected to elevate the federal capital’s standing as a regional diplomatic and corporate hub. Senior officials noted that Islamabad’s existing hotel inventory is insufficient to meet future demand, particularly during high profile events and international engagements.

The project will be developed under the Engineering Procurement and Construction model to ensure efficiency, transparency and timely delivery. Under this approach, the selected contractor will handle all phases of the project including design, procurement of materials and full scale construction. CDA officials stated that this integrated model will help maintain quality standards and accelerate completion without bureaucratic delays.

The proposed hotel will feature modern architecture, premium guest rooms, high security protocols and advanced amenities suitable for global VIPs. The facility is also expected to include conference halls, executive lounges, wellness areas and commercial spaces aimed at attracting international business activity. Officials added that the hotel will contribute significantly to the city’s economic development and global branding.

The CDA has outlined an aggressive construction timeline of 18 months. Authorities believe that with the EPC model, the project can achieve faster execution and streamlined oversight. This approach is expected to reduce cost escalations and ensure that work progresses without interruption.

The new hotel in Sector F 5 marks one of the most ambitious hospitality investments in Islamabad. Once operational, it is expected to become a signature landmark, enhance tourism potential and support Pakistan’s broader efforts to strengthen diplomatic hospitality infrastructure.
