Five leading business groups have announced plans to invest billions of dollars in Balochistan, marking a major boost in investor confidence and opening a new phase of large scale mineral development in Pakistan’s most resource rich province. The announcement is being widely viewed as a turning point for Balochistan’s economic outlook and Pakistan’s broader investment climate.
The development follows a strategic joint venture agreement between Mari Minerals and Globacore Minerals aimed at unlocking untapped mineral reserves through long term and structured investment. The partnership is expected to introduce modern exploration methods and international operational standards while ensuring sustainable and responsible resource extraction.
According to informed sources, Globacore Minerals Limited will spearhead multi billion dollar investments across multiple mineral exploration and development projects in different regions of Balochistan over the coming years. The initiative prioritises advanced technology skilled employment and environmentally responsible practices to ensure long term value creation for both investors and the local population.
A major focus of the agreement is mineral exploration in the Chagai region with particular attention on gold copper and other high value resources. Experts believe these reserves have the potential to significantly strengthen Pakistan’s export base reduce reliance on external financial assistance and support long term economic stability. Infrastructure development is also expected to accelerate alongside expanding mining activities.
Former federal minister Gohar Ejaz said structured mineral development would promote peace employment and economic inclusion across underserved areas of Balochistan. He stressed that local job creation and community participation would help bridge longstanding economic gaps and integrate the province more effectively into the national economy.
Analysts note that increased mineral production could improve foreign exchange reserves enhance investor sentiment and position Pakistan more competitively in global mineral markets. The initiative aligns with national economic reform goals by transforming natural resources into sustainable national assets and placing Balochistan at the centre of Pakistan’s future growth strategy.
