TAXILA: Rural development efforts in Attock received a fresh boost as Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan inaugurated a solar powered water supply scheme and launched a key road project aimed at improving connectivity and basic services in remote communities.
During his visit to Jand, the governor inaugurated the solar water supply project in Langar village, describing access to clean drinking water as a fundamental right and a core priority of the government’s development agenda.
He said the new solar powered system would help address long standing water shortages while promoting sustainable solutions for underserved rural areas. The project is being seen as part of a wider push to improve essential services through environmentally efficient infrastructure.
The governor later performed the groundbreaking of the Kot Chhajji to Langar road project, calling improved road connectivity vital for economic growth, mobility and easier access to services. Residents welcomed the initiative, saying the project could significantly improve travel and trade in the area.
Addressing a large public gathering, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said development of Attock remains among his top priorities and pledged continued focus on projects that directly benefit rural populations. He stressed that investment in roads and public utilities is crucial for balanced regional progress.
The twin projects signal a broader effort to accelerate infrastructure development in neglected areas, with officials projecting improved living conditions and stronger local connectivity as Attock moves forward with new public works initiatives.
