ISLAMABAD: In a major Eidul Azha relief package, the federal government has slashed petrol and high speed diesel prices by Rs22 per litre, providing significant respite to consumers amid persistent inflationary pressures. Under the revised rates, petrol will now be available at Rs381.78 per litre while high speed diesel has been reduced to Rs380.78 per litre. The government described the move as an Eid gift, reaffirming its commitment to easing the financial burden on the public.
Officials said Pakistan maintained stable fuel supplies despite recent volatility in global oil markets and rising international crude prices. Meanwhile, global oil prices declined on growing optimism over a possible extension of the United States Iran ceasefire, raising hopes of smoother energy flows through key regional shipping routes and supporting further stability in petroleum markets.
