ISLAMABAD: The federal government has transferred two senior officers of the National Highway Authority (NHA), including its Chief Executive Officer, in a fresh round of administrative changes notified by the Establishment Division on Wednesday.

According to official notifications, Mr. Muhammad Sheheryar Sultan, a BS-21 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), has been transferred and directed to report to the Establishment Division with immediate effect under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act, 1973. Mr. Sultan was serving as Chief Executive Officer of the NHA under the Ministry of Communications.

In a separate notification, Mr. Omer Saeed Chaudhri (ML&CG/BS-20), who was holding the position of Member (Admin) at the NHA, has been repatriated to his parent department, the Ministry of Defence, also with immediate effect.

Mr. Sheheryar Sultan had assumed charge as NHA Chief Executive earlier this year and was overseeing several ongoing highway and motorway projects, including upgrades on the national highway network and initiatives aimed at improving financial governance within the authority. His transfer comes at a time when the NHA is engaged in multiple large-scale infrastructure undertakings across the country.

The latest reshuffle follows a series of management changes at the NHA in recent months as the Communications Division pushes for greater efficiency and oversight in key national projects.
