ISLAMABAD: In a sweeping enforcement move, the Capital Development Authority has launched decisive action against illegal housing schemes in Zone IV, sealing offices of Shaheen Town on Lehtrar Road and Islamabad Green Paradise for regulatory violations.
Officials confirmed that site offices and public dealing centres used for marketing and administrative operations have been shut down in the first phase of the crackdown. The action targets unauthorised sale and purchase of plots, which authorities say were being conducted in clear violation of planning laws.
According to CDA, the schemes breached multiple provisions of the CDA Ordinance 1960, ICT Zoning Regulations 1992 and Planning and Development Regulations for Private Housing Schemes 2023. Authorities stressed that these violations undermine urban planning standards and expose citizens to financial risk.
The civic body has repeatedly warned the public through advertisements to avoid investing in illegal housing schemes and to verify the legal status of projects before making any transactions. Citizens have been advised to check approved layout plans and NOC status through the official CDA website.
In a bid to tighten enforcement, CDA has directed utility providers not to supply electricity and gas connections to such schemes. The authority has also imposed an immediate ban on sale and purchase activities in these projects, aiming to curb further expansion and protect potential buyers from fraud.
Officials said the crackdown reflects a zero tolerance policy against illegal developments, with further actions expected in the coming days. The public has been urged to invest only in approved housing schemes, as authorities intensify efforts to restore transparency and discipline in Islamabad’s real estate sector.
