Pakistan has expressed strong appreciation to Qatar for its continued and timely support in ensuring stable liquefied natural gas supplies, as both countries move to further strengthen cooperation in the energy sector with a particular focus on strategic storage and long term supply reliability.
According to an official statement, Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik held an important meeting with the Ambassador of Qatar to Pakistan Ali bin Mubarak Al Khater at the Petroleum Division, where bilateral energy ties and ongoing LNG arrangements were reviewed in detail.
The minister highlighted that Pakistan greatly values Qatar’s consistent cooperation, describing it as a reflection of the deep brotherly relationship between the two countries. He noted that close coordination had played a key role in ensuring the successful arrival of LNG cargoes during periods of high demand.
Ali Pervaiz Malik shared that he has remained in continuous contact with Qatar’s Minister of Energy Saad Sherida Al Kaabi, enabling effective coordination on LNG vessel scheduling and supply management. He said this collaboration directly contributed to the smooth arrival of two LNG cargoes to Pakistan.
He further stated that Pakistan will continue working closely with Qatar to secure uninterrupted LNG supplies to meet growing national energy requirements. The minister emphasized that the country prefers sourcing energy from trusted friendly nations through structured agreements that ensure stability and reduce risks to the national system.
During the meeting, the Qatari ambassador reaffirmed Qatar’s unwavering commitment to supporting Pakistan’s energy security needs. He also conveyed that Qatar’s leadership has instructed full facilitation for Pakistan in maintaining reliable LNG supplies and strengthening long term cooperation.
Both sides agreed to further expand energy collaboration and maintain close coordination in the future. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to ensuring stable, predictable, and mutually beneficial LNG supply arrangements, strengthening an already strategic Pakistan Qatar energy partnership.
