ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has established specialized working groups to expedite infrastructure development in newly developed sectors and upgrade older residential areas across Islamabad. The decision was made during a high-level review meeting chaired by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa.

According to CDA officials, the initiative aims to remove administrative bottlenecks, ensure timely completion of ongoing projects, and improve coordination among engineering, environment, and planning wings. The working groups will monitor progress in real time and propose quick interventions to address delays in sectoral development.

In Sector C-14, major infrastructure works such as internal electrification, road construction, and horticulture are currently underway. The Chairman directed departments to accelerate work on street lighting, drainage, sewerage, and water-supply systems to make the sector livable at the earliest.

Progress in Sector C-15 remains steady, with sub-base work completed on 17 roads and contracts for the remaining works already awarded. The CDA set March 2026 as the target date for completing all major road infrastructure in the sector.

Similarly, in Sectors E-12 and I-12, tendering for Sub-Sector 4 of E-12 is expected to be finalized soon, while road surfacing (TST) in I-12 is scheduled for completion within this month. These efforts are part of CDA’s broader plan to hand over possession of plots and improve accessibility in long-delayed sectors.

Chairman Randhawa reaffirmed the CDA’s commitment to ensuring that both new and old sectors receive equal development attention. He emphasized that modern infrastructure, timely delivery of plots, and improved urban facilities remain top priorities for the authority.
