LAHORE: Cement dispatches in Pakistan registered a modest growth of nearly six percent in October 2025, with total volumes reaching 4.75 million tonnes compared to 4.40 million tonnes in the same month last year, according to the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA).
Local cement dispatches stood at 3.93 million tonnes, reflecting an increase of 15.17 percent from 3.40 million tonnes in October 2024. However, exports declined sharply by 23.44 percent to 0.83 million tonnes from 1.08 million tonnes a year earlier.
In comparison, cement exports had already dropped by 15.25 percent month-on-month in September 2025, signaling a continued downward trend in the export segment.
North-based mills contributed 3.52 million tonnes to total dispatches in October, marking a 15.03 percent year-on-year increase. Industry officials attributed the rise in domestic sales to stable demand from public infrastructure projects and improved construction activity following the monsoon season.
Despite the uptick in local consumption, manufacturers remain cautious over export challenges driven by weak regional demand and higher freight costs.
