ISLAMABAD – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has issued a strong public notice, dated October 15, 2025, announcing an extensive drive to remove all illegal encroachments from public spaces and CDA-owned land within the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT). The move marks one of the most assertive steps in recent months toward reclaiming public land and restoring the city’s planned infrastructure.

According to the notice, the CDA has warned individuals, vendors, and housing developers occupying public areas without authorization to vacate voluntarily. The authority has emphasized that failure to comply will result in forceful eviction, demolition of illegal structures, and strict legal action under relevant municipal laws.

Officials from the CDA’s Enforcement Directorate stated that the operation would target unauthorized kiosks, boundary walls, roadside constructions, and illegal commercial setups that have gradually spread across the capital’s greenbelts and right-of-ways. The initiative aims to preserve Islamabad’s master plan integrity and ensure accessibility and safety for citizens.

Residents have long complained about the growing encroachments that obstruct roads, hinder pedestrian movement, and diminish the city’s aesthetic appeal. CDA officials said that restoring public spaces is essential not only for beautification but also for maintaining traffic discipline and improving public convenience.

The authority has urged citizens to cooperate with the campaign and report any illegal land occupation or construction activity within their neighborhoods. Teams from CDA, ICT Administration, and Islamabad Police will jointly oversee the operation to ensure transparency and security.

With this renewed enforcement push, the CDA appears determined to reclaim its public spaces and send a clear message: Islamabad’s land belongs to its people, not to encroachers.
