ISLAMABAD: Gas and Oil Pakistan Limited has issued a detailed clarification regarding media reports and ongoing court proceedings related to Aramco branded fuel stations in Pakistan. The company emphasised that all its retail outlets operate strictly under the regulatory framework and possess the required licenses and approvals from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority and other relevant departments.

According to GO Pakistan, operations continue smoothly under a duly incorporated local entity even after Aramco acquired a 40 percent equity stake in the company. The firm stated that every fuel station under its network is fully licensed and compliant with statutory requirements, countering claims raised in recent media discussions.

The clarification follows a petition being heard at the Islamabad High Court, where notices have been issued to Ogra, Aramco Asia Singapore, GO Pakistan, Askar Oil and several government departments. The petition, filed by a local fuel station owner, alleges that Aramco branded fuel outlets in Islamabad are functioning without an independent marketing license, arguing that the licenses issued to GO Pakistan and Askar Oil are being used in a manner inconsistent with the Ogra Ordinance, Pakistan Oil Rules 2016, the Petroleum Act and the Explosives Act.

The court has sought written replies from all parties involved, with the case now adjourned until a new date is set. GO Pakistan highlighted that the petition concerns procedural issues currently under judicial consideration, and assured that it will present its complete legal and factual position before the court in accordance with the law.

Reiterating its commitment to transparency and regulatory compliance, GO Pakistan stated that it remains fully aligned with statutory obligations and continues to uphold operational integrity.
