Islamabad Electric Supply Company has decided to significantly expand the scope of its professional training programmes to enhance the technical efficiency and service quality of its workforce. The initiative aims to equip officers and staff with modern skills required to meet growing operational demands and evolving customer expectations in the power sector.
The decision was announced by Iesco Chief Executive Officer Engineer Khalid Mahmood during his visit to the Regional Training Centre in Islamabad. During the visit he reviewed existing training modules and stressed the importance of continuous learning in an era of rapid technological change and increased public service accountability.
Addressing trainees and instructors the CEO said Iesco had developed a strong reputation across Pakistan due to its trained human resource effective use of modern technology and improved customer care standards. He emphasised that sustaining this position requires regular upgrading of skills through structured and high quality training programmes.
Engineer Khalid Mahmood highlighted that refresher courses would now be conducted more frequently to align staff knowledge with new systems safety standards digital operations and revised customer service policies. He said training would no longer be limited to routine instruction but would focus on practical problem solving and real time field challenges.
Regional Training Centre Principal Mohammad Zahid briefed the CEO on the objectives and structure of ongoing courses. He explained that the programmes cover technical operations safety protocols fault management energy efficiency and consumer handling to ensure well rounded professional development of staff at all levels.
The Iesco management reiterated that the primary objective of the expanded training framework is to improve technical competence workplace discipline and service delivery.
