The Islamabad Electric Supply Company has placed its field formations in Murree and surrounding hilly areas on high alert in anticipation of heavy snowfall and severe weather conditions. The move aims to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply and swift resolution of consumer complaints during the challenging winter spell.

IESCO Chief Executive Officer Engineer Ch Khalid Mahmood said that all officers and field staff deployed in Murree Nathia Gali Guldana Ayubia and nearby localities have been instructed to remain fully vigilant. He emphasised that staff must perform their duties with maximum responsibility to prevent power disruptions caused by harsh weather.

According to the chief executive officer special arrangements have been made to deal with any emergency situation. Additional material including electricity cables poles meters transformers and other essential equipment has been supplied to concerned field offices to ensure immediate response in case of faults or line damage.

He said that maintenance teams have been directed to regularly inspect power lines transformers and feeders particularly in snowfall prone areas where trees landslides or ice accumulation can damage infrastructure. Rapid response teams have also been tasked to remain available around the clock to restore power supply at the earliest.

IESCO has also instructed its field formations to maintain close coordination with district administration and local authorities. This coordination will help ensure timely access to affected areas and smooth execution of repair work during snowfall or road blockages.

The power utility has urged consumers in hilly regions to cooperate with field staff and immediately report any power related issues through designated complaint channels. Engineer Ch Khalid Mahmood reaffirmed IESCO’s commitment to providing reliable electricity services even under adverse weather conditions and said the company is fully prepared to safeguard public convenience and safety during the winter season.
