ISLAMABAD: Chairman Capital Development Authority Sohail Ashraf conducted a late night visit to key locations including Daman e Koh, Diplomatic Enclave and several commercial centers, unveiling an ambitious plan to upgrade infrastructure and enhance the capital’s urban appeal.
During the inspection, the chairman reviewed the condition of the Daman e Koh to Pir Sohawa route and directed immediate measures for its repair., rehabilitation and long term maintenance. The move aims to improve road safety and ensure a smoother travel experience for both residents and tourists.
He also ordered the installation of uniform and well coordinated signage across major centers to create a consistent urban identity. Officials were instructed to ensure aesthetic harmony while improving navigation and accessibility in high traffic zones.
Special emphasis was placed on pedestrian friendly development, with plans to introduce improved walkways and public convenience facilities. The initiative is expected to enhance safety and comfort for pedestrians across the city’s busiest areas.
In addition, the chairman announced the introduction of a modern and efficient solid waste management system to address cleanliness challenges. Authorities have been directed to adopt advanced mechanisms to improve waste collection and disposal standards.
Officials said these measures are part of a broader vision to transform Islamabad into a modern, organized and visually appealing capital. The planned upgrades are expected to significantly enhance urban living standards while reinforcing the city’s reputation as one of the country’s most well planned metropolitan areas.
