ISLAMABAD: In a decisive move against illegal land occupation, National Accountability Bureau launched a targeted operation in Al Haram City, reclaiming encroached plots and restoring hope for hundreds of affected property owners.
Acting on multiple complaints, teams from NAB Islamabad and Rawalpindi, under the supervision of Director General Waqar Ahmed Chauhan, carried out the operation in coordination with local revenue officials and Rawalpindi Cantonment Police. Authorities ensured strict law and order while removing illegal occupants from the site.
Officials revealed that nearly 200 kanals of high value land had been unlawfully occupied, allegedly by elements linked to another private housing scheme, despite the land being officially allocated to Al Haram City plot owners. The encroachment had left around 300 allottees deprived of their rightful properties for an extended period.
The operation marks a significant step in NAB’s broader campaign to address irregularities in the real estate sector and curb land grabbing practices. Authorities described the move as part of an ongoing effort to protect citizens’ property rights and restore public confidence in housing schemes.
Following the clearance, verification procedures have been initiated to ensure rightful ownership claims. NAB has directed the Al Haram City administration to level the reclaimed land and complete the handover process within one week, ensuring that affected owners regain possession without further delay.
Officials stressed that strict monitoring will continue until the process is fully completed, warning that any future attempts to illegally occupy land will face swift legal action. The crackdown sends a strong signal that encroachments on private and public land will no longer be tolerated.
