ISLAMABAD: The prices of petroleum products are expected to go up from November 1, with Petrol (PMG) likely to increase by Rs2.10 per litre and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs2 per litre, according to industry estimates.

Currently, petrol is being sold at Rs263.02 per litre, which after the expected revision will rise to Rs265.12 per litre. Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel may go up from Rs276.81 to Rs278.81 per litre.

The possible hike follows fluctuations in global oil prices and adjustments in import premiums. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) is expected to forward its pricing summary to the federal government on October 31, with the final decision to be announced the same day.

If approved, the revised prices will come into effect from midnight between October 31 and November 1, adding to inflationary pressures and increasing transportation and commodity costs across the country.
