ISLAMABAD: After being removed from their positions without assigning any reason, several of the affected personnel have accused the incumbent Member Administration, Talat Mehmood Gondal, of taking “selective action” against those not aligned with the current management.

In background discussions with Infra News PK, the removed officers claimed that many of those included in the list were sidelined because they refused to comply with questionable administrative directives. “Most of us were deliberately kept away from high-profile postings because we did not want to be part of projects that are riddled with legal irregularities and financial discrepancies running into billions,” one officer alleged.

They further accused that under the guise of a report or recommendation from an external body, the CDA management has “settled personal scores” against officials who resisted unlawful or irregular orders. “If there was any genuine inquiry or evidence against us, the administration should have proceeded under the rules. There is nothing on record,” another officer remarked.

The officials said that irrespective of the reasons, the abrupt removal of such a large number of officers in one go has created an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty within the Authority. “It has sent a bad signal across all directorates and lowered morale among officers,” said an insider.

When contacted, CDA Director Public Relations Shahid Kiani confirmed that the officers had been removed from their positions due to inefficiency and poor performance. However, when asked to share specific reasons or details behind the transfers, he said he would respond after consulting the relevant quarters.

The large-scale reshuffle, initiated on the reported recommendation of a secret agency, continues to generate strong reactions within CDA ranks, with some viewing it as a much-needed clean-up drive, while others term it an act of administrative victimisation.
