ISLAMABAD: The Central Development Working Party has approved a revised Rs7 billion PC I for the Daanish School in Islamabad’s Kuri area, marking a major push to expand educational infrastructure with a focus on female students.
The meeting, chaired by Ahsan Iqbal, reviewed key development initiatives aimed at accelerating reforms and strengthening social sectors. The revised plan primarily includes the construction of a girls hostel and related facilities, in line with directives from the prime minister.
Officials said the Kuri Daanish School project was initially launched at an estimated cost of Rs5 billion and has already completed its first admission cycle, enrolling 360 students from classes six to eight. The new funding aims to enhance capacity and provide essential residential and academic facilities.
Ahsan Iqbal directed authorities to maintain a standardised model for all Daanish Schools across the country, ensuring uniformity in cost, design and scope. He stressed that no additional expenditure beyond the approved components would be permitted under the revised PC I.
In parallel, the Economic Coordination Committee approved Rs2 billion through a technical supplementary grant to support the Kuri project and the Prime Minister Youth Skill Development Programme aimed at improving employability.
The meeting also cleared multiple development projects across sectors including health, environment and infrastructure, reflecting the government’s broader strategy to drive sustainable growth. Officials said the Kuri Daanish School expansion will play a key role in improving access to quality education while empowering students through modern facilities.
