ISLAMABAD: The poor performance of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) is not only causing hardships for the general public but has also drawn criticism from members of the ruling party, as Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Anjum Aqeel Khan publicly lashed out at the civic body for failing to address Islamabad’s basic civic issues.

Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly on Wednesday, Anjum Aqeel criticised the CDA’s inefficiency and urged the government to ensure accountability. “You should not read out written answers received from the CDA and instead tell us what is happening on the ground,” he said while addressing Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry during a discussion on a calling attention notice.

The MNA lamented that Islamabad residents continue to suffer due to the CDA’s poor management, deteriorating infrastructure, water shortages, and unchecked encroachments. He demanded immediate reforms in the authority and called for concrete measures to resolve the longstanding civic problems of the capital city.
