Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited has issued a final warning to Liberty Daharki Power Limited to immediately clear outstanding gas dues exceeding Rs20 billion or face suspension of gas supply. The notice underscores growing financial stress within the energy supply chain and highlights enforcement of contractual obligations by the state gas utility.
In a final payment notice addressed to the chief executive officer of Liberty Daharki Power, SNGPL stated that repeated reminders had failed to yield compliance with the agreed payment plan. The utility referred to earlier correspondence dated November 18 2025 and warned that continued non payment would compel action under the gas supply agreement.
According to SNGPL figures, total outstanding dues had reached Rs20.029 billion as of December 9 2025. This amount significantly exceeds the cash security deposit of Rs3.085 billion held by the utility. Officials noted that Liberty Power has not been releasing funds in line with the agreed settlement terms despite restoration of gas supply.
The outstanding amount includes gas arrears of Rs17.812 billion approved by SNGPL management in June 2025. After adjusting an upfront payment of Rs2 billion made prior to reconnection, the balance at the time of restoration stood at Rs15.812 billion. The utility said subsequent payments remained insufficient to meet liabilities.
SNGPL detailed that five overdue instalments total Rs5 billion while gas bills from June to October 2025 amount to Rs10.047 billion. After receiving Rs7.75 billion post reconnection, the net overdue shortfall stands at Rs7.297 billion. In addition, a gas bill of Rs1.92 billion dated November 25 2025 and a sixth instalment due on December 10 remain unpaid.
Under the gas supply contract, all invoiced amounts must be cleared within thirty days. In case of default, SNGPL is legally entitled to suspend gas supply after seven days written notice. The utility reiterated that failure to clear dues would result in suspension of gas supply to the power plant without further warning.
