ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has registered a corruption case against officials and employees of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) over the alleged illegal and fraudulent allotment of 10 plots worth more than Rs200 million in Sector I-12/4, Islamabad.
According to FIA sources, the case has been registered by the FIA Corporate Crime Circle against officials associated with the CDA’s Land and Rehabilitation Directorate.
Those named in the case include former Director Irfanullah, former Deputy Director General Afnan Alam, former Director Sidra Anwar, CDA Council official Latif Saeedi, Administration Officer Asghar Ali, and dealing assistants Faqir Muhammad and Muhammad Athar Khan.
Property dealer Sajid Aslam and others have also been nominated for allegedly obtaining financial benefits from the illegal allotments.
The FIR states that the role of the then CDA Member Estate and Assistant Director Yasir Shah will also be investigated as part of the probe.
The case has been registered under Sections 419, 420, 468, 471 and 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code, along with Section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
FIA sources said that only one suspect had been arrested so far, while the investigation into the alleged fraudulent allotments and the involvement of other suspects was continuing.
The allegations against the nominated individuals are subject to investigation and have yet to be established in court.
