Salman Ghani directs officials to follow Lahore High Court orders, address residents’ complaints and take prompt action on unresolved housing matters.
RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has been directed to speed up the resolution of pending issues involving six private housing schemes following directions from the Lahore High Court.
Rawalpindi Commissioner and RDA Director General Salman Ghani chaired a hearing at the RDA office to review outstanding matters and hear concerns raised by housing-scheme representatives and affected residents.
The meeting was attended by the owners and sponsors of the schemes, their legal representatives and citizens who raised complaints about unresolved issues.
Six housing schemes under review
The hearing covered the following private housing schemes:
- Metro City Gujar Khan
- Bahria Town
- Mega City
- Mumtaz City
- The Avenue
- Top City
During the proceedings, Salman Ghani listened to the concerns of participants individually and reviewed the pending matters associated with each scheme.
The hearing was held to move forward on unresolved issues in line with the applicable court directions and ensure that affected residents’ complaints receive proper attention.
Legal action and follow-up directed
The RDA law officer was instructed to take the necessary legal steps in accordance with the Lahore High Court’s directions and ensure effective follow-up on outstanding cases.
The RDA Chief Planner was also directed to take immediate and practical measures to address pending issues and ensure timely action on complaints raised by affected citizens.
The commissioner stressed that the relevant officials must handle these matters without unnecessary delay and follow the court’s directions strictly.
Focus on residents’ complaints
The latest directions place renewed emphasis on resolving outstanding housing-related matters and improving the handling of complaints from residents.
The progress of these cases will depend on the steps taken by the relevant RDA departments, the required legal proceedings and compliance with the court’s instructions.
The authority has been directed to pursue the pending matters promptly, with the aim of ensuring that residents’ concerns are properly addressed.
