The land in Shah Allah Ditta was acquired for a landfill site; officials must verify its status and investigate alleged encroachment.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has ordered immediate measures to recover 898 kanals of government land in Mouza Shah Allah Ditta, Islamabad, following a complaint about alleged illegal occupation.

The land was acquired for a landfill and controlled dumping site. CDA Member Estate Muhammad Zaman Wattoo has directed the relevant officials to confirm the authority’s physical possession of the property and take steps to protect it from further unauthorised occupation.

The instructions were issued in a letter dated October 15, 2026, following communication from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Islamabad/Rawalpindi Region, dated October 8.

CDA Seeks Report on Land Status

The Deputy Commissioner of CDA has been directed to coordinate with the relevant departments and take immediate steps to retrieve the land. Officials must also provide an updated report explaining how much of the property is currently under the authority’s possession.

The report is expected to help establish the status of the land and identify any gaps in its protection. The authority has also directed officials to determine whether revenue officers or other personnel failed to perform their duties in safeguarding the government property.

NAB Communication Prompts Action

The CDA’s directions follow a complaint concerning alleged encroachment on the land involving authority officials and other parties. The allegations have not been established as proven wrongdoing in the available information.

The latest instructions focus on verifying the land’s status, pursuing recovery measures and determining responsibility for any failure to protect the property.

The land was originally acquired for a landfill and controlled dumping facility. Recovering and securing it could help the authority protect public assets and address the planned use of the site.
