Major roads, green belts, parks and entry points are being upgraded as authorities work to increase the capital’s green cover and improve its urban environment.

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has stepped up tree plantation, landscaping and beautification activities across Islamabad as part of efforts to make the capital greener, cleaner and more environmentally friendly.

Large-scale plantation work is currently underway along major roads, green belts, parks, interchanges and public spaces across the city.

The campaign aims to increase Islamabad’s overall green cover, improve the urban environment and further strengthen the capital’s identity as a green city.

According to the ongoing plan, trees and plants suitable for the environmental needs of different areas are being planted. Work is also being carried out to improve existing green belts and develop new green areas in different parts of the capital.

Special attention is being given to the landscaping of major roads and entry points of Islamabad to improve the appearance of important city corridors.

Along with plantation, authorities are also focusing on the proper care of newly planted trees and plants. Regular maintenance is being given importance so that the new greenery can grow successfully and remain part of the city’s green landscape in the long term.

The beautification work covers prominent public locations and important road corridors, making greenery and landscaping an increasingly visible part of Islamabad’s urban development activities.

The CDA has also encouraged citizens, students, business communities, traders and civil society to participate in the plantation drive and help protect trees and green spaces.

Public participation is expected to play an important role in keeping newly planted trees safe and ensuring that green areas are properly maintained.

The ongoing campaign is aimed not only at improving Islamabad’s appearance but also at creating a healthier and more pleasant urban environment for residents and visitors.
