CDA chairman directs departments to hold daily consultations with union representatives on employees’ pending issues
ISLAMABAD: The CDA Workers Union has formally submitted a Charter of Demands to the Capital Development Authority (CDA), seeking action on a range of issues related to employee welfare, housing, recruitment, promotions and workplace facilities.
The charter was presented at a ceremony held at the CDA Secretariat on September 28, 2026, attended by CDA Chairman Lt. (Retd.) Sohail Ashraf, Member Administration Asfand Yar Baloch and senior officials along with representatives of the Workers Union.
According to the union, its demands include the allotment of residential plots to employees, approval of residential flats and additional housing colonies, as well as recruitment of employees’ children.
The union has also called for immediate approval of overtime payments and site offices for field staff, along with occupational health and safety equipment for employees working in the field.
Other demands include the upgradation of CDA departments, resolution of employment-related cases, increases in existing allowances, approval of new allowances, promotion lines for employees, construction of a CDA Model College, revision of pay scales and creation of additional posts.
CDA Workers Union General Secretary Chaudhary Muhammad Yasin said the union preferred dialogue and negotiations to resolve the issues. He also called for timely overtime payments to field staff who work beyond their prescribed hours during emergency situations.
The union further requested the authorities to process pending recruitments and cases under the Prime Minister’s Package, particularly those involving families of orphans and widows.
CDA Chairman Lt. (Retd.) Sohail Ashraf directed the Member Administration to ensure that relevant departments hold daily meetings with members of the Joint Works Council to review the Charter of Demands.
He also directed concerned departments to take immediate steps on pending employee-related matters and work towards resolving the issues raised by the union.
