Chairman reviews ongoing infrastructure works and directs officials to accelerate development in cleared areas

ISLAMABAD: The Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) has visited Sector E-12 to review the progress of ongoing development activities and directed concerned departments to accelerate work following the clearance of approximately 750 kanals of acquired land.

According to the CDA, the land had remained under unauthorised occupation and was considered a major obstacle to the planned development of the sector. Its clearance is expected to allow development activities to proceed in accordance with approved plans.

During the visit, the chairman was briefed on the progress of development works, land clearance and the status of claims submitted by affectees and allottees. Officials said allotment letters had been issued to genuine affectees whose claims were found admissible after verification and completion of the required legal and procedural formalities.

The chairman directed the relevant formations to increase the pace of development in the cleared areas and ensure that construction activities follow approved plans, prescribed standards and applicable regulations.

He also stressed coordinated efforts among CDA departments to remove remaining administrative and site-related obstacles that could delay development work.

The authority said the cleared land will help facilitate the planned expansion and development of Sector E-12 and support the provision of infrastructure and civic facilities for residents and allottees.

During ground verification, CDA also identified unauthorised structures and occupations on acquired state land. The authority said appropriate action would be taken against unauthorised construction, occupation and commercial use after completion of the prescribed legal process.

CDA has reiterated that genuine and legally admissible claims of affected persons will continue to be processed through the relevant procedures, while acquired and public land will be protected from unauthorised occupation.

The authority said it will continue development activities in Sector E-12 with the objective of completing the sector as a planned and fully serviced residential area.
