ISLAMABAD: A major anti encroachment campaign has been launched in the federal capital targeting illegal guard cabins outside residential properties, as authorities intensify security and urban regulation measures ahead of high level international engagements.

The Islamabad administration confirmed that a coordinated operation is underway across key sectors to remove unauthorised structures built outside houses. Assistant commissioners have already submitted reports detailing enforcement actions carried out in multiple upscale neighbourhoods.

During the initial phase, at least 47 illegal guard cabins were dismantled from areas including F-6, F-7 and F-10. The operation was jointly conducted by the district administration, Islamabad police, the Capital Development Authority and the Directorate of Municipal Administration to ensure swift and effective execution.

Officials stated that the construction of cabins outside private residences is a clear violation of civic regulations and cannot be permitted under any circumstances. Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon directed field officers to carry out indiscriminate action and ensure complete removal of all forms of encroachments without exception.

Sources revealed that the campaign is also driven by heightened security concerns, as many private guards stationed in these cabins lack proper verification. Authorities believe the unchecked presence of armed personnel outside homes poses a potential risk, particularly in sensitive zones hosting important diplomatic activity.

The administration has made it clear that this operation will continue across the city, reinforcing both security and urban discipline. Residents have been urged to comply with regulations, as Islamabad moves towards stricter enforcement to maintain a safe, orderly and well regulated environment.
