RAWALPINDI: The district administration has issued a strict directive to complete all ongoing development projects by June, signaling a renewed push to accelerate urban development while maintaining high construction standards.

The decision was taken during a high level meeting jointly chaired by Deputy Commissioner Hassan Waqar Cheema and Tahira Aurangzeb, focusing on the progress and challenges of key projects across the district.

The meeting was attended by elected representatives from national and provincial assemblies along with senior officials from relevant departments. A detailed review of ongoing schemes was presented, highlighting progress updates, bottlenecks and corrective measures being implemented.

Officials briefed the forum on construction timelines and operational hurdles, assuring that efforts are underway to address delays. The administration emphasized strict adherence to deadlines, warning that any compromise on quality or pace of work would not be tolerated.

Speaking on the occasion, Tahira Aurangzeb underscored that public welfare projects remain a top government priority. She stressed that timely completion of development schemes is essential to improve civic facilities and enhance quality of life for residents.

The administration also decided to strengthen coordination among departments and introduce more transparent monitoring mechanisms. Authorities have been directed to conduct regular inspections and ensure accountability, aiming to fast track Rawalpindi’s development and deliver visible results to the public.
