ISLAMABAD: The federal government has appointed Capt. (Retd.) Muhammad Khurram Agha, a BS-22 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), as Secretary, Maritime Affairs Division. The Establishment Division has issued a notification regarding his appointment.

Capt. (Retd.) Agha has served on several key positions, including Secretary Interior and Narcotics Control, Principal Secretary to former caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, Secretary Communications, Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan and Chairman National Highway Authority (NHA).

He comes from a family with a military and political background. His father was an army general, while his father-in-law was a prominent politician from South Punjab.

Known among colleagues for his humble personality, Capt. Agha has also developed a reputation for handling challenging administrative assignments with efficiency and a results-oriented approach.

His extensive experience in infrastructure, communications, federal administration and public-sector management is expected to be relevant to his new responsibilities in the maritime sector.
